About DMFT

District Mineral Foundations Trust (DMFT) are statutory bodies in India established by the State Governments by notification. They derive their legal status from section 9B of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 as amended on 26 March 2015 as Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015. This amendment came into force from 12 January 2015

IAS Collector

Mrs. Vasumana Pant (IAS), a 2017 batch Maharashtra cadre officer, is the new and first female District Collector of Chandrapur as of April 2026. Formerly the Additional Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur, she is recognized for improving civic services and sanitation. She holds an MA in Economics from Delhi University and has a reputation for being an active and diligent officer.
